EBS freak has put this in the gear porn section but as many none GB bass fans would miss it I think its only right to flag it up here too, Its feckin awesome! I saw it in action last night in the perfect setting and its just the job, The spec is amazing and the finish etc is another level to any of the other small scale makers I can think of. Im sure it wil be in all the mags and shows over time and these pics dont do it justice at all, Im sure EBS will add more pics at some stage and be happy to elaborate more than I ever could on the spec.

Scroll down for the white bass madness!

I know its not mine (unfortunatley) to boast about but I dont think it should be left in the GB porn thread to be missed by everyone else? Love it or hate its some bass :)

All of Bernie's creations look fantastic - I had a quick play on one at the LBGS but this was just a teaser really. The white bass looks really coool but just what is the the white fretboard made from??

I know what you mean, kinda looks like it belongs in a big Gospel act.

It is gorgeous though, love it, although for me the white 'board and LEDs is a touch too much bling, and I'd prefer black hardware, but each to their own innit! You can't deny that the workmanship is stunning!

Not for me - I had a Rumour a fair while ago, and it was a very well made instrument (not sure about 'another level') but that's just Huggy Bear's bass.

It's being used almost in a sort of Gospel (esqe/inspired) setting TRBboy your spot on, don't worry it's not been made for the dog and lettuce although with the flashing lights off it can pass for a white and maple jazz type bass with almost every sound imaginable at your finger tips.

Im surprised you don't rate the finish higher Muzz after owning a rumour, that's usually Bernie at his best.

EBS freak won't mind me saying other than solid colour Spitfires GB's aren't really my style of bass, bit woody for me and he knows I'm not keen on EBS amps either :) but this one has something I've never seen in a GB and a thru neck Jazz must be on a few wish list around here? It's ace, shame the action will be too low for my ham fisted clattering to beg it for a gig :)

Plectrum users need not apply for test drives :)

Eh? Not all of us plectrum users are ham-fisted you know; I play lighter than most of the guitarists I've worked with. FWIW I prefer my action how Bernie and Martin Petersen usually set their basses up.

That would look amazing with gold hardware.

No. It would look like a bad bathroom suite.
The fretboard's probably phenolic.
TBH, the pick-up covers would be nice in white, too.

You are right. Beside, the headstock decals are mirror chrome and would cack with gold hardware.

I thought the Rumour build quality was very very good, but then so was the build quality of the Shuker and the Overwater I had. Not another level between them though. Couldn't fault any of them, so it'd be doing someone an injustice to claim one was better than another, much less vastly better. Once build standards and attention to detail reach the heights of most (haven't owned em all, so I can't say all) top-end luthiers, the differences become very very small indeed. Maybe you've had a substandard Sei, or an under-par Overwater, or a dodgy Dingwall, I don't know. :)

I meant more about EBS not wanting any chance of scratches where a pickguard would be than the playability itself.

Not really and its not the place for me to nit pick other brands so Im happy to agree all of those suggested are nop notch, then again this one appears to be top notch plus something extra! I think this one will pathe the way for some future GB basses even if they are in a less brash finish.

That's my thoughts exactly and why I thought letting it pass by in the porn section was an injustice :)
If anything it's sparked my gas for a white and maple Ray 5 again, I'm so predictable :)

It's actually a neck thru! I think Bernies first ever NT Spitfire? The heel area is amazing on it, so many people moan about BO necks but like Jazz styled basses so although pimp white and LEDs is for everyone the basic layout is an option for a more subtle spec.
