bubinga5
Everytime i hear this track im amazed at Pino's bass playing... hes got the most amazing way of putting the best groove together with some killer note choices and fills, with flawless timing.... i think he has such an impact on this tune.. if i aspire to any bass player, its Pino P..oh and Meshell..... perfect tasteful bass playing.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY5jB5p8GGo

Chris2112
I love Pino's playing on this track. It was the first bassline of his that I learned. Sadly, once the awesome intro is over it descends into typical Go West fare (ie. pap). Edited October 16, 2011 by Chris2112
chardbass
Amazing lines- all his Go West lines have amazing nuggets of bass loveliness. I've seen Go West on a number of occasions over the last few years and all the bass players (great gig to have) have strayed very little from the original lines. Some great stuff around in the 80s- well played, incredibly produced. Go West, Scritti Politti etc. Great musos- Alan Murphy (RIP), Pino etc. Heard a great one the other day which sums him up- "If you've got 2 gigs, and Pino's got 2 gigs, Pino's got more gigs"
Chris2112
Alan Murphy was in Level 42 in the late 80's, wasn't he?
Kiwi
Yes he was drafted in and seemed to really gel in the band. BTW, I have a live track of Go West doing Ball of Confusion and Pino just kills on that number. In fact the bass lines on a lot of Go West songs are highly highly under rated IMO. Just try playing along to We Close Our Eyes... Really nice tunes. A Bassist called Graham Edwards also did his bit with Go West live . risingson
I'm a bit guilty of loving this song as well as Pino's playing! He's my favourite player, but I'm a bit of a sucker for the overproduction on 80's tunes like this one. Mostly because of GTA Vice City. It was a lot harder than I expected. Was that Pino then? Every time a hard one comes up it's one of his (for want of a better phrase)

garryc300
Go West were the best band I ever seen live...Graham Edwards on bass and the late and great Alan Murphy on guitar. the entire band were top notch session players and this was the moment I kinew my destiny was to be a Status Graphite bass player
