A bit of a long shot this, but gotta ask!
Anyone got a bass clarinet lying around, that they dont want anymore!
It's for my partner, she is a very good clarinetist and for years she has wanted one of these, so feel like treating her for xmas :-)

Yes good luck. Even the worst entry level bass clarinets will cost you a thick roll of notes. I've owned a couple of cheapos and they really were rubbish. I've got an old wooden Yamaha now and that's OK. The best budget bass clarinet I've come across is the Yamaha YCL 221 II. These clock in at around £1900 new and have an ABS plastic body rather than wood. Everything else below this really isn't worth it. :)
