bcbass Posted October 17, 2011 Share Posted October 17, 2011 I have this bass for couple weeks and can't find any source of brand or make of this bass.It's in fairly good condition for age,problem with electronics is sorted,neck must be relived a bit and plug'n'play.Any help is welcomed.Body is plywood,neck lookes like mahagony,on pickup or tuners no name.Short scale. The string retainer, the headstock shape and isn't that a [s]part worn Hagstrom logo? [/s]Forget that - I just looked at the close up. There's a Russian guy on the Forum that has/had lots of Russian basses, he might be able to tell you more about it And it looks like it said 'Craftsman' on the headstock. Musky Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 It looks very similar to an Aria A100, which was manufactured by Matsumoku, and these appear with loads of different brands on the headstock. I don't think it's the same bass though - Mats had three piece necks for a start. Soopercrip's would have been an A200, or at least an equivalent. I used a similar bridge as a replacement for a fender type and had problems with getting the string low enough. Bridge sat much higher the original and the action was too high at the lowest setting. You may be ok but check the measurements. I apologise if you have taken all this into consideration already.
