The Goatreich
Hey all, does anyone know whether the Gibson Thunderbird IV bass has ever been available in white? I can find plenty of results for the Epiphone model, but wondered whether the real deal ever existed. I've never wanted a white bass before, but I saw the bass player from Yob with one of these the other day and it looked very sexy!!
Lozz196
It was, don`t know about now though. Sami Yaffa used to use one in his Hanoi Rocks days - do a google search, you`ll find some nice pics. This link to Youtube shows him using his: Edited October 20, 2011 by Lozz196
Marky L
Thumbs up for Sami and Hanoi Rocks!! There certainly have been white T'birds in the last few years, you just may have to be patient if you're looking for a used one.

The Goatreich
Amazing, I'll keep my eye out on the SH market then. Those Japanese links look good, but I'm a bit wary about ordering from a site that I don't understand the lingo

Seem to recall BC's Farmer61 has a proper white Thunderbird IV

NancyJohnson
I've got a white one. I've never really been a fan of the sunburstesque finishes. Might start looking for a black one as well once Christmas is out of the way. P
bigsmokebass
Quite a rare colour to find but wouldn't surprise me if theyll bring it out in the next year or two like they did with the firebird.
dc2009
I just wish they did a Gibson Thunderbird V in white. I saw the Edguy bassist play an off-white, almost cream-coloured one at Hellfest back in 07. Gibson were a big sponsor of the event and it seems many artists got chucked Gibsons to play with if they wanted to try them out, so I'm not sure whether it was his bass or not. BigRedX
Of course you could always buy any Thunderbird that you like the feel and sound of and get it refinished in the colour of your choice.
