P Bass PUP config

Are both PUPs in a P-Bass PUP identical? That is, does it matter which PUP goes under which strings? I have a sneaky suspicion I read somewhere that it does, although this might have related to a specific manufacturer's product?

I can't see that it would, unless one has more windings in it. You could always swap them about, and see if they change the sound at all, you might uncover something interesting. If you don't like it then you can always swap back.

Agreed ^, it would make a difference which way 'round you put them tho'.

And can also make a difference if you dont run 'em, in series...

I'm going to try more experiments with the H1 after I pick it up next weekend!
