Hi mate,

Firstly I liked the tunes.

I think the whole mix is a little bright. The bass sound itself is pretty gutteral and fat, but it is buried a bit in the mix. The guitars too sound nice but it is like the production has spoilt the sound a little - you can tell the original sounds are all there. Level wise I would say everything is about right - maybe the vox are a bit loud, but that might be the 'vocal' sound of the overall mix playing tricks.

The beatdown al the end of track one for example should sound REALLY chunky but it sounds a bit like it is playing through some cheap iPod headphones here through my studio monitors.

I would be interested to hear a non produced version, before any EQ and so forth.

Track 2 seems an improvement, perhaps the guitars are panned a little wider. It feels warmer and has a nice 'live' quality to it.

Cheers

Yep, Ped's just about nailed it. There's almost an SM58 type presence peak across the whole mix, but higher up the frequency range if you get my drift. I reckon the 6 to 12 k range needs taming a bit. The bass could do with poking through a bit more - I think the basic level is OK, it's just a bit of tweaking in the lower mids and maybe a bit higher up the spectrum. Overall, the tracks sound a bit like they're being played through a typical Bose PA to me.

Brilliantly played though. :)
