[/quote] That's what I like about this place - satisfies the inner anorak Had a quick look around, surprisingly very little on Mr Siffre, although on a later album he was backed by Chas & Dave who I have a lot of respect for. What i think of as 60's bass playing, i'm quite a fan of it. There's load's of this type of playing on all sort's of 60's records, have a listen to the Scaffold's original 'liverbird's', tho not the cover version from the T.V. show. Quote
JTUK Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Stock 60/70's film score sound. Heavily muted with a pick. Neil Stubenhaus gives a great demo on a Star licks video. Nowadays you do it with a palm mute as you'd not often set up a bass with foam to get this attack...or at least I wouldn't. You might also use palm mute and thumb nail. Quote

I don't know why, there are one or two slightly less muted notes that just said, "Rickenbacker". Just a hunch, probably wrong Quote
