kevin_lindsay Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Spent the day with Chris. The workshop is cool. Typical Chris - neat and tidy. Here's some pics: Arriving at the workshop In we go The workshop Chris working on a Fender Marcus Miller bass Video of the workshop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrjvtUKFvUI&sns=em Video of the woodworking area http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWdymatYzuI&sns=em Quote
mentalextra Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Just checked the price list on his website and he has a 'de-fret' down as £60? Is that right! Quote
warwickhunt Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012
The workshop
DOH! Pet hate that, tell him to get some bliddy guitar hangers on the wall or at least invest in some kind of rack or guitar stands! Quote
RichF Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 that's my Fender MM!!! Just picked it up after you left. needed shielded. Chris also set it up real nice. great work. Quote
Cairobill Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Balls, just discovered that he (used) to live a 5 min drive from my house! Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 The guitars stacked up are his own, he doesn't do that with customer's instruments!! Also, he's awaiting a rack stand for instruments in the workshop Quote

Cosmo Valdemar Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I'm sure Chris will be very pleased to have some windows finally! Quote
RichF Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 not sure if there was a better place for this but just got some high quality work done by Chris in Edinburgh - new nut on Warwick and sorted out wiring/earthing on a Fender Marcus with John East pre (this one sounded tricky to identify and sort issue inc calls to John but job done). Very highly recommended and certainly IMHO the best in Edinburgh area. Quote
RichF Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015
Chris is a star.
looking forward to seeing the latest photos of your jazz - his tele basses are incredible Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Chris and I were talking last Wednesday. He was saying that the body and neck were going off to have the body and headstock sprayed in Fiat "Smooth Mint". I'm popping through to see him on Monday 2nd November. Quote
I have a very nice Jazz bass neck which has had some amateur nut filing done on it (previous owner). I think a new nut and a setup is in order. And Chris's workshop is just down the road Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Yeah, Chris will get your neck sorted mate. Quote
dmccombe7 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Chris repaired my Warwick Thumb 89 while I waited. Was getting a clicking noise every now and again. He narrowed it down to the encapsulated electronics and suggested it would be cheaper and easier for me to buy direct from Warwick than via himself. He gave me all the part numbers. I ordered and as I said he fitted while I waited one evening after work around 5pm ish. Couldn't be more helpful, pleasant and his cost for labour was a pittance compared to what i'm used to elsewhere. Highly recommended from me if that means anything.
