gilmour
As I've been gigging for a couple of months now with my EAD 212 I feel comfortable parting with my awesome BFM Omni 15 TB. I'm sure most of you know about this, details of the cab are on Bill's page here. (mine is the Tall Boy featured on Bills page ) Essentially it's a full range cab that will go very low and very loud. The cab itself is in good condition, everything works great and as it should. It was built with the full three way crossover with a compression horn (some of the bass cabs utilise Piezos tweeters) in an ideal world it could do with re-carpetting (I'm happy to do this at cost) but I certainly wouldn't be ashamed of showing up to a gig with it. I'm more than willing for people to try it out and happy to answer any questions you may have. There's a detailed build diary here. I'm asking £270 (that's less than the component parts will cost you) for this, probably best if it's collected but I will arrange a courier at cost. Here's an old photo, if there's interest I'll take some more recent ones) _____________________________________________________________ I'm also going to be selling off my Jack 210's (I may break them down into component parts if you want some cheap drivers.) gilmour
Hey, Sorry re-reading the post it is a little short on details (like the speakers!). It has all the premium recommended drivers at the time of building, which are: Eminence Kappalite 3015LF (woofer) Eminence Alpha 8MR (midrange) Eminence 1001 HF (top end) GIven the price hike in neodymium speakers recently I think the drivers alone would cost around the same as I'm asking. If anyone else has questions do feel free to ask, I'm aware this is a less common bass cab, but the sound it produces is immense (which I'm sure anyone who's used one will testify to). oldslapper
R. What's the impedance for the cab and the power handling? Having just bought an Omni 10.5 and pleasantly surprised at its clarity, I bet this baby is immense. John
gilmour
The Eminence Kappalite is rated at 450W @ 8 ohms, so that's the power handling. However it's worth noting that because the cab has a three way crossover in it it's is very efficient and I've never needed to go anywhere near the max power. On a separate note, I really like the Omni 10.5's, this will go a lot lower and it's usable on it's own in louder situations (where you may want 2 10.5s). Because this is the tall boy version a 10.5 will sit on top of it nicely, and the two cabs do work together (although you'd have to be in a very loud bnd to need both). Of course my old amp went down to 2 ohms, and I have 2 10.5's as well, it had to be tried.... Monster, but I don't think I'll be doing many stadium gigs anytime soon. Pentode
Excellent piece of kit Rob for a great price! I could be wrong, but people seem a little unsure of BFM designs because they look different.... Such a shame as they really deliver the goods (I've got the 'Lowboy' version of yours). All I can say is that if anyone's considering this but is a little unsure, go and try it, you'll be amazed - clear, punchy, very loud and enough bottom end to loosen your kneecaps!! Buy it now!

On this however I did make an inch deep rebate all around the front edge as my original intention was to add in a grill. If anyone wanted to do that it would be very straightforward to do. Here's an old pic of what I mean...
Well here's a thought.... I was going to rebuild my Omni 15 Wideboy into a Tallboy using a new 3015LF. If Michael has my new 3015LF, I'll have Robs Tallboy and then flog my Wideboy. Win, win, win! Edited October 30, 2011 by Pentode
