Anyone know how much these sold for when they came out? Just bought one from ebay as it looked like a bargain, so kinda curious about its original retail price.

I think around the £500 mark but don't quote me on that!

RRP was £550, I got mine new in 2003 for £415 from GAK .

a very playable bass for not a great deal of money....................i leave mine at work for practise before i start work in mornings ....... but would also be very happy to gig with it!!

Second bargain I've picked up from Ebay then, (if it gets here in one piece!). I got an Ibanez ATK405 very cheap, near mint and its my main gigging bass at the moment!
Looking forward to the Yamaha now.

So it turns out I won't be getting a bargain, as the bass was apparently stolen! After cheking out reviews I was looking forward to this. Oh well...

The bass was stolen? From the seller or by the seller?

If from the seller then I think they weren't happy with the selling price

From the sellers rehearsal space (Because if you have something for sale, thats where you keep it ) apparently, along with a load of his other gear.
I think your right, my winning bid was £147 plus £20 p&p so I got it / didn't get it pretty cheap!
I'll keep my eye out to see if it pops up online again.
Now just waiting for the refund...
