How much would you say is a reasonable price for a Fender CIJ Fretless Jazz 62 re-issue? It's in incredible condition. Just a few marks on the neck from using roundwound strings.

IIRC I have seen these go generally in the £400-500 range depending on condition etc. Right now, the market is rubbish so probably £400-450 is about right. One BCer has been trying to sell one of these (with an added preamp) for close to £500 for some time now with no joy

If it wasn't for people replacing the sale price with the word 'SOLD' when they sell stuff. :)

Plus expecting what they paid for it 3 months earlier.

Why wouldn't you get back what you paid for it 3 months earlier? In my experience decent basses don't really lose much after the initial depreciation from new unless it's been badly treated.
In fact the older they get the more they seem to be worth.

IMO of course :)

I could be wrong but people may be referring to the fact that some folks buy 'New' basses and expect to get back exactly what they paid for them (either immediately or within the next few years); I concur that after the initial depreciation, most basses don't depreciate that much and some can appreciate!

I'm getting confused. Is this thread about someone selling a bass, if so, then a price should now be stated. If it's a discussion about values, which I quite like the look of, then should it not shift to 'Basses' or 'General Bass Discussion'?

Alright Pedants. I was only asking what would be a reasonable price to sell it at, which I intend to do!

Yes £450 seems the rate for good second hamd japs , so -£50 or plus some depending on condition and demand for the particular model

Commercial sales seem to be + another £100 to £150
