Ou7shined Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Not sure if there was a fire she'd be the first out out the door (that would be the Shuker... or the '80 L-1000... or the Pingray... or the ... ) but she's definitely the first one I pick up to play these days. A one-piece 70's mystery Jap bass with an original DiMarzio, £80 off ebay and a couple of days TLC.... Quote

Kelso Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 My 75' P-Bass. I don't actually have her in my possession yet (she is en route from the US) but I reckon she'll be the one . . . Och, now I feel like I'm cheating on my Sandberg. I love you too honey! Sorry, getting a bit weird now . . . Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011
This one...
So nearly my choice! (mine, not yours!) Good to see you back around these parts. Quote
Grand Wazoo Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) Well considering that everything else I own is still currently available to buy back in case of theft or loss this one is the only one that is irreplaceable and the first to be saved in case of fire. JTUK Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I take two...and choose on the day. I kinda of know which bass I'll start to sound check with..and then refine that decision or not. Quote
CBbass Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Great contributions so far. Keep an eye out on the first post, i'll edit it and add a pic hopefully when my bass arrives! Quote

Pow_22 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 My Burns Bison. Had a gas attack the other week and nearly binned it off for a Squier Tele bass but came to my senses! Quote
bartelby Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 As they're kept side by side I'd have chance to grab these two: Quote
Cat Burrito Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 This year it seems to be my 1976 Bitsa Jazz bass Quote
Pow_22 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 That looks amazin Burrito, just the amount of wear on it that i would love to re-create on my p-bass Quote

It's a beauty, isn't it? I especially love the inlays. Joe Zon apparently built this bass as an exhibition piece for a NAMM show. He commissioned an inlay specialist to do the work on the fingerboard, which are mother of pearl Celtic chains: Quote
Big_Stu Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Drooled after Jimmy Lea's bass since the first gig I saw it at. After a nasty divorce & a fair bit of saving I traced John Birch who had semi-retired & he built this for me. He called me on a Sunday afternnon to tell me it was almost ready, two days later he was found dead in his kitchen. This is the last ever John Birch custom which he personally worked on. Quote
Spoombung Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I've play this a lot more than the others Quote
