wally8
Hi all. I've managed to nab my dads 70s natural finish precision which is mega, such low action. It has the ashtray cover over the bridge but missing the pickup cover which I wouldn't mind replacing. He reckons the old pickup cover used to have the F sign on it. That can't be right can it? I thought the old covers were plain. Ps the pickups have sunk and the rubber/foam needs replacing underneath. Is the official stuff any different from standard weather strip rubber? Thanks
Hobbayne
The Fender Jazz bass had an F stamped on the bridge cover, the Precision where plain

wally8
Yeah, the dating site reckons 76.
Cat Burrito
Purely as a point of interest 1976 was something of a transitional year at Fender (change of serial number position etc) and because it was the Bi-centenary year the 76s are always of interest to collectors. I too can confirm the F was only on the Jazz basses and P-basses are always plain. Great picture too btw
