Volume Pot not doing what it should,,,,any ideas please???

Hello fellow basschatters

I have just bought a secondhand passive tokai bas. Just pluggged it in and the volume only works at all when it's over 7 or 8 ish and doesn't get very loud even on 10...

I'm shocking when it comes to techical matters..does anyone have any ideas for how I could sort this out??

Sounds like you may have a linear pot for a volume control when you should have a Logarithmic pot.

Or your amp is too quiet to hear the difference below 7? But probably the linear thing.
