rapscallion
Hello. I'm planning to build a bass-reflex cab for my car. The current box I have is useless, and building my own would be awesome. Any help as to how abouts I'd go about this would be brilliant, mainly in relation to size, volume, design etc. My driver is a Kicker Comp15 rated at 800W t 4ohms. I know this is a bass forum, and I am a bassist, but I don't know where else to go Help appreciated guys Cheers Will
alexclaber
Can you get the t/s specs for this woofer? In the vast majority of cars the best result will be from a sealed box, as the 12dB/octave roll-off below resonance is the inverse of the 12dB/octave cabin gain below where 1/2 wavelength = car's largest interior dimension. Match the Fb of the sub to the cabin gain knee frequency and you can get pretty flat response down lower than you could ever need.
