99ster
Anyone have an experience with this...? The Funk
No experience but it looks very interesting. Unfortunately it looks like a complete system - it doesn't look like you should just turn up at a venue and plug one gizmo into their desk and control your own monitor mix from the stage... unless the had the hub themselves, which is not very likely. clauster
More suited to the studio environment than live as its hard wired and cat 5e doesn't like being coiled and uncoiled too much if you wanna keep all four pairs working. Shame really cos the singer in my band got really excited about this system (he's a wireless nut).
WalMan
Similar to the system I use. All the stage feeds go into a stage box / A/D converter that sends the signals back to the desk by CAT5 cable. At the same time it send everything by CAT5 to the second slot down in my rack, which is my submixer. That gets a bit of reverb from one of the Behringers and the stereo mix to the IEM transmitter at the top. I can store up to 16 mixes. That option I only really use for different mixes depending whether we have keyboards, second guitarist, or both of them. [attachment=6921:CurrentRack.jpg] I love the control it gives me, as does our stand in guitarist, but the drummer & main guitarist hate it - more like refuse to give it a proper try. Drummer says he feels to isolated with the phones on and guitarist can't get round how his guitar sounds. You do need good headphones, particularly for the bass, but my Shure E2g's are fine. Muppet
I looked at this for my band but as far as I can see, and I'd love to be corrected, we'd need an output per channel on our desk, which we don't have. And then at £950 for the hub and four units, you'd have to decide whether it was worth it

The sound guy decided it was the way to go and - with no dependants (other than a huge dog) - went ahead & got it Completely over the top, but the idea at the time was to keep stage levels down with more controlled monitoring & control over FOH - it just never actually happened
