Doctor J
Good call. I last played one of those about 18 years ago and I'm finally starting to GAS over them. There's something oh so wrong but still so right about them. Edited November 10, 2011 by Doctor J
waynepunkdude
I'm really unsure about them, some days I think awesome and others I don't, I really need to have a go on one.
Telebass
I'd love to try one. The switch appeals far more than a D-tuner...
charic
It's always been an odd one for me too. Almost it's so ugly it's beautiful jobby
charic
The bongo is quite a pretty bass but the I've got odd taste, I always liked the warwick katana
Oopsdabassist
Wow...just WOW..never seen the likes of that before. So what IS that lever on the headstock? how does it work?

Ou7shined
I'll find out when it gets here, I guess but looking at these pics it looks pretty normal https://picasaweb.go...400730331929746 I have enlarged some of those shots and the neck pocket shows no issues.
Looks fine Fran. Just don't let Gareth (MM20) see it.

matski
I guess I'd better update my sig, then...
So what IS that lever on the headstock? how does it work?
The lever is a detuner - lift it up with your thumb, pull the string out from underneath it, then release the lever - hey presto you have detuned from E to D!
Don't talk to me about that bloody packing! I'd got a decent quote for shipping, packed it all up safe and sound, then found out that because I'd used so much padding the package dimensions had increased so much that the shipping cost had doubled... Cue frantic unpacking, cardboard cutting and repacking... Don't worry Fran, I only took out one layer of polystyrene and retaped the package with a whole roll of packing tape! It's still pretty much bombproof! And by the way, the neck pocket is tighter than the proverbial gnat's chuff

Doctor J
Just roll the ship out of there and be done with it. Who's going to win in a fight, your ship or some Belgian red-taper waving a piece of paper at you? This is serious business, go get your bass. TPJ
You'll enjoy this bass. The necks are some of the most comfy to play. I used one as my main bass for five or 6 years. GAS tempted me to move it on and I regret not having it now.
swanbrook
Ha ha I had many a night in holland looking for ways to pass the time !! My Dingwall was in ireland on a Friday of a bank holiday weekend and I got it on Tuesday !! matski
With a bit of practice, it is possible to use the detuner with just your fretting hand: use your thumb to life the clip up, then index finger to slide the string out of the way of the clip, and then release the clip. Job done
