' is an apostrophe, a punctuation mark that is usually used within writing when words or phrases are shortened or to indicate pluralisation of ownership. ′ on the other hand, is used as a unit label for the foot.

The 2 cables I have at the moment are 6 m and 3 m. I think 6 m is about ideal for me. I found 9 to 10 m cables to be unwieldy whereas a 3 m one is a bit short if I'm playing standing up.

I once forgot to a bring a lead to the gig and ended up having to use the keyboard players patch lead. It was about 3 inches long.

I felt very silly.
