Waterboarder Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) This is one beautiful bass but times are hard, I could do with the money to learn to drive and this one rarely gets played... This is the re-issue model (made in Japan) of the Plexi-glass original used by Bill Wyman, Geezer Butler etc. back in the late 60's/early 70's. 24 frets, low action, comes in a lush chequered tolex covered, purple velvet lined, lockable case. Includes the additional pickup and truss-rod key Its in excellent condition. Looking for £550, offers considered. Edited March 11, 2012 by Waterboarder
Waterboarder Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Forgot to say I have the hardwood thumbrest, just took it off as I found it gets in the way.
LemonCello Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Marmite..... but I love it! Good luck with your sale. LC
Waterboarder Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) Bump - just noticed theres a hairline crack in the surface of the pickguard, about 15mm long near the tone control. Not noticed it before. Still a seriously gorgeous bass, and quite rare... Edited January 2, 2012 by Waterboarder
Jacqueslemac Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 The guitarist in my band uses the guitar version for some songs. If only you were close enough so I could borrow it for just one rehearsal to see whether it looks/sounds naff to have matching guitar and bass!
Waterboarder Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Yeah my mate uses the guitar version in his band too (I think just because Greg Ginn from Black Flag did) and he was thinking along similar lines...
LemonCello Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Jannersville? Wern't in the mob by any chance were you? I was, and know Guzz quite well!
Waterboarder Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 Hi Phatkat, sorry I missed your message - I think its around the 8lb mark but will have to check and get back to you.
Waterboarder Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Yeah I would - but its pretty heavy with the case, going to be about £25. Someone asked about the weight of the bass a while back - I havent got any scales but its similar to my precision and thats about 8 pounds.
Waterboarder Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 This badboy is still for sale - any love? Would take £550 posted... Will probably put her on evilbay if not.
