Anybody know where to but Optima Gold Flatwounds in the UK ?
Have heard of these but cannot find them anywhere , stringsdirect seems to only stock the roundwound version

I brought i set from there, but to be honest i threw them in the bin. They were horrible, for a start the finish was very rough akin to barb wire! also very unbalanced and the E was dead as a dodo.

I may have received a duff set but at that price i just couldn't try them again.

In all fairness the proprietor did offer to send out a replacement E string FOC but i never bothered due to not liking the rest

I'll just stick an oar in for Ernie Ball Flats, not generally rated I know but imo bloody great and reasonable from Stringsdirect.
