Marvin
Steve Lawson I was listening to local radio this morning and heard Steve Lawson playing a couple of songs. It's not usually what I'd like but I was incredibly impressed. The best thing I've heard on the radio on a Saturday in a very long while. That's all. Soliloquy
What station was that ? I usually only listen to Jazz FM, I have a particular hatred for radio DJ's talking about what they had for breakfast . Jazz FM DJ's tend to talk about the music and musicians. Marvin
I was hoping not to say as it makes me feel quite sad It was BBC Radio Devon. I've actually started listening to the station quite a lot on a saturday morning as they like to promote a lot of local bands and musicians. molan
Steve is a lovely guy as well - met him a couple of times and been to see him play a solo gig once. I'll admit that I find listening to an entire album of solo bass a bit tough but great to go and watch him live Good teacher too.
krazy_olie
Steve's a very nice guy, also met a few time and been to a couple of his gigs when he was London based. He used to be a regular on these boards, or at least the old bassworld.
Steve Lawson
Hi Marvin, thanks very much! So glad you enjoyed that. that was all kinds of fun to do - what a great show! Was a real treat to get to play with Joe on trumpet too - I met him about 5 minutes before we did that tune, he was playing banjo with the Wagon Tales, but is a trumpeter that plays with Andy Williamson who was on sax. We had two great gigs down in Cornwall and Devon, so hopefully we'll be back soon! cheers Steve www.stevelawson.net
