Just ordered from Steve James a Fender Classic '50s P. In Fiesta red. Might be a big mundane for some here but I'm barely able to sleep.

Well done, a good buy I reckon. I'm not a massive fan of P's usually, but I played one of these in GuitarGuitar last year and couldn't put it down! Very comfortable, easy to play, sound great and look great - what more can you ask for! Preferred it to most US standards and deluxes i've played.

Ha! I'm so pleased you said that! I had a feel of one in the Guitar Guitar, Newcastle and thought it would be a nice upgrade to the Squier CV and the neck felt nicer.
That white American Standard has been coming down in the classifieds to £700 which was very tempting but I'm sticking with this.

Great basses, I had a honey-blonde one for a while, but discovered I prefer rosewood fret-boards. The Classic 50s sound and play amazing, really great instruments.
