xilddx Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011
Hi can anyone give me any ideas with the controls of the j retro 1, particularly the mid sweep and boost controls for my mia 5 string jazz, thanks.
Your question is rather too vague. What do you really want to know mate? Also, what is the current control layout on your Jazz 5er? Quote
RichF Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) John's website makes clear that on the j retro there's a 12db mid boost/cut available on a variable frequency ranged between 150hz and 3khz. http://www.east-uk.com/ I have the slightly tweaked Marcus retro which has slightly altered frequency parameters, though not on mids (I think?). It's a massively powerful tool - you can really hit the sweet spot on the mids and I find myself learning more and more about sound options of my Jazz and making use of what for some is maybe too much control? xilddx Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 All the info one needs is on his website. you can always call John and he'll be an absolute gent and tell you all you need to know to make a choice. They sound incredible and totally transform the limited Jazz bass electronics with no body mods and only one solder joint required. BUT you also retain the original tone in passive mode. I have loved the East pres I've had, they are incredible. Quote
woodster Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Wot eeee said..... Both my Ow's have got Easts in them, J-retro and P-retro. they are simply amazing. Quote
