Another one from a famous loft this time!
Very few photos.

"who claimed he recovered it from the loft of John Entwistle's old home, better know as the Ox. Can't verify that"

Why bloody mention it then? It really gets my goat when a provenance is hinted at with no effort or intention to verify it. As if namedropping a famous deceased player and alluding to a tenuous link between them and the instrument in the listing somehow adds value to it.

I thought this rang a bell. http://basschat.co.u...stles-jazz-bass

Got to be the same one surely.

Blimey. Well remembered mate.
Yep same serial... although I guess a whole bunch of fake decals all have the same number on.
Hey maybe we should start a database of hooky serials on here - could save a lot of hassle in the long run.

I'm not convinced that John Entwistle's home was known as the Ox. It's a very strange name for a house.

From what I've seen and heard of John Entwistle he had all his basses out in various rooms, not stuck up in the loft. What a load of old tripe!

Also, what a crap set of photo's. No full shots of the bass at all.

There's a scroll function next to the ones you can see.

Though even the logo looks fake - not much sign of the gold around the Fender which IIRC was quite wide in that era.
