Ou7shined Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 How about we have a sticky thread documenting suspect serial numbers? Going on the premise that reproduction decal makers are printing runs of decals with the same serial on them and therefore a lot of suspect basses out there will be using these identical serials, a database of "flagged" numbers could save a lot of hassle and perhaps help avoid some major disappointments. Here's a starter for 10. S7 35688 a "78 Jazz" currently being discussed on here but previously discredited as being bogus a couple of years back. Quote
chrismuzz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 This is a good idea. There are so many fakes around these days, and people like me would have no idea of knowing which is and which isnt'! Quote
Kiwi Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Pinned but if we had the wiki, it would be easier... Quote

SingleMalt Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I wonder if it might be worth creating a shared google spreadsheet or something similar to post a list of these? Makes searching a serial number much quicker for people. Quote
