Well Ped, if you're ever travelling near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, kettle's always on mate :-)

Thanks mate. I'll bear it in mind. Here's a passion fretless, the first Vigier I owned and sold about two years ago, I think:

Lovely instrument. Here's a track so you can hear it's unique sound:

Glad you put these pics up ped, my picture server is down at present so I couldn't post anything myself.

Yes indeed it was two years back (well near enough :)) I bought this beauty off you, such a fantastic range of tones, very unique. Lovely instrument.

That's right - I was trying to remember who bought the bass!! The first time I sold it I bought it back as soon as I could afford it, but you caught me at a time I was rationalising my stuff and trying to narrow everything down to 'one' item. Same went for watches and camera gear. Glad to hear you're still enjoying the bass. There's really nothing like it.

For anyone who hasn't heard it, here's the Vbass in Jazz bass mode:

Sort of a synth fretless mode:

I also bought my Vigier Passion IV through Mark

What an absolutely stunning bass, I've got the fire burst one he had. Totally different to anything and every aspect is top drawer.

Glad I joined the Vigier family

Here is my 1984 Passion, currently up for commision sale at Bass Direct.

Hmm very nice. Unusual to see a passion with pickups in those positions. This has the brass laminate under the fingerboard yeah?

Here's my '96 Excess, I've changed the pre amp to a Glockenklang 3 band as recommended by Patrice. Sounds so clear and the neck is to die for easily the best bass I've played and weighs 8lb, so if I ever want a easy gig this is the one that gets called.
Colour is more turquoise than the pics and it has a cool mirror scratch plate.

Yup, wooden through neck with a brass plate under the fingerboard, ser.026 and made on the 23 may 1984. Patrice Vigier thinks they only made about 10 with this pickup configuration

Got this a few months ago but it needed a bit of work done - both pickups rewound at Bareknuckle and new pickup top plate and backplate. Nice and light with massive range of tone and smooth slim neck.

269 - which makes it an '86 I think.

Very nice.. did the pickups remain single coil or have you fattened those up?

Just wound to original spec. There was a delay in the repairs because I actually tried to locate 2 replacement pups from Vigier - Ben (the rep) said they would be difficult to get as an old model but Patrice in reply to me on the forum said they were available  but the trail went cold eventually. Had them rewound at Bareknuckle after trying Wizard who couldn't do it

Ah right, OK. Those original pickups sound great, though. Bet they sound nice now they've been sorted.

Really love these basses... keep them coming, any other owners on BC?

And my Custom V Passion (in flame maple)... it's new so I'm really just bedding in with it, but enjoying every minute so far.

The finish is absolutely perfect, and it's well balanced and the thin neck feels fantastic....

*sigh*

Funny thing is when I first had it I thought it was ace - now I'm completely in love with it - stunning :) Could spend the whole day stroking it (too much information?) ;)

This is one of the most stunning basses I've ever seen. The finish is awesome...
