This is the teaser pic I was sent, yesterday. Very excited. Full, detailed pics upon arrival 😋 Never had a Vigier with a maple (?) neck and this kind (array) of electronics in my hand. Is this a bold on neck Vigier, looks like? - could be the actual Ecess series resp. Roger Glover Signature... ped
lovely collection. Are those rectangular cases official Vigier items, not seen those before. I know the cases that came with series II and IV but haven’t seen those ones.
Sipuri
These are third party cases (Stagg) for little money, very light, perfect fit for the vigiers (rectangular for the 6-str, conventional for the 5-str), 3D sticker home made... I got the basses w gig bags only, however prefer cases... Just in case you need one - here it comes ... 😉 Edited June 9, 2018 by Sipuri

Sipuri
Thank you. First from the right is my latest acquisition (1996 Passion 6str). It took me a long time to get this family together. Esp. 5 + 6 string in excellent condition for reasonable prices are hard to get, one came from Germany (where I live), 2 from France and 1 from the Netherlands. jebroad
Can i bring up the no truss subject. What are all your thoughts on this as consumers?

Great, but you need to check you like the amount of relief because obviously you can’t change it. My series II basses are almost exactly flat which I love. The series Iii and IV have a tad more but it’s still only about a credit card thickness. It’s rare to see one where the neck has moved even a fraction in its lifetime.

It was a little strange at first especially when you were shifting between basses. I had a Bongo V when I first had my Vigier and the feel in tension especially was noticeable. However, the more I played the Vigier the more it felt right. The neck is straight and flat and never shifts. I did a gig in Norway and took the both basses. The Bongo neck had moved quite a bit but the Vigier stayed where it was That was it for me, the Bongo was sold and I haven't looked back. That solidity, reliability are only part of the selling points. The feel of the necks are second to none and you get used to not having a trust rod very quickly. wright/watt
As a fortunate owner of a series11 and series111 Passion basses, 31 and 27 years old respectively, with no movement on necks what so ever.I can vouch for the prevoius comments.Amazing playing and comfortable necks on any Vigier I have ever played. It is fantastic not to have to worry about neck relief and lack of truss rod, if all you have to consider is intonation and your personal string heights. That said if you like experimenting about with neck relief and set-ups a Vigier is maybe not for you.Though that said i believe every bass player should have a Vigier (if lucky enough)😁
ped
I have a series 1 which has a wooden neck with a brass laminate under the fretboard - really cool idea, mega idiosyncratic - and it has a truss rod, which I haven't had to touch. It's my fretless bass too so the action is super important, but no worries with it at all...

I guess it was a bit of an experimental stage, and no doubt it had an influence on the later Delta Metal fingerboard fretless basses. Sipuri
What I would like to add that the full solid neck is said to contribute a lot to the uniqe sound and endless SUSTAIN of the Vigiers... May be a matter of personal taste: I never played basses which would allow such a low string action. On my Arpege 6str string action at 24th fret is less then a matchstick: Edited June 19, 2018 by Sipuri pic
