Abjatar
@wright/watt oof, that delta metal Arpege is tasty! My corner of Vigiers is looking not too shabby lately either. My go to is still the Glover Signature Excess. it just does something special for me. If i ever come across a delta metal Excess, it's definitely game over for my purse...

Hellzero
A friend of mine in France is selling his original very very very rare Vigier Arpège 5 series I : https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-1996126
itu
Bien, 16.5 mm. No, I do not have to buy this one. Thank you. I am actually happy, that Patrice chose tight spacings with his 5s. I do not have to hunt after one, and I couldn't modify a 6 to a wide 5.

Might even be worth the additional VAT/duty.
rhysyjob
NBD - Excess Roger Glover in the new Marianne Antoinette Blue. Well worth the 6 month wait through BD (thanks Will). Very modern sounding with a very adaptable Eq. Usual amazing Vigier build quality. May well turn out to be a Swiss Army Bass for all occasions. One happy Basschatter! 😊
Hellzero
Love these colours, even if I call them toilet seat colours. 🤦♂️

Lfalex v1.1
Got this out today, as I had the time to play properly for a couple of hours. Sorry, its filthy now 🙄 Think I've finally got to grips with the EQ- use it to accentuate/de-emphasize the harmonic content using the 3 position switch (? +12dB / flat / -12dB) to get the sound to sit where you want it in the mix. Use the volume control to compensate for any gain/loss in the output, and if there's any shortfall in the low-end, use the AMP EQ to reinforce it a bit. Live (hopefully) the man behind the desk will do the same.. It's only taken 2 decades! Edited December 28, 2021 by Lfalex v1.1 It's a royal pain to photograph in anything but daylight..

Hellzero
This is my newly acquired Vigier Arpège Delta Metal Fretless from 1981 and bearing number 005. It weights 4.670 kilos, which is quite heavy for my broken back, but I will never sell it as it took me more than 20 years to find one in such a good condition... I bought it from the original owner who acquired it on the 2nd of September 1981 for 6417 French Francs, so the equivalent of todays 2806 Euros, but the official retailing price was 7130 French Francs, so the equivalent of todays 3118 Euros. I received the original invoice, the original user manual in French and the rare charger as these basses were intended to be used with 2 rechargeable 9 Volts batteries, way back in 1981! For those not aware of these Delta Metal fretless basses, the fingerboard is made out of a brass alloy consisting of copper (55%), zinc (41-43%) and iron (1-3%), with the balance consisting of various other metals, called ... Delta Metal and these very early fretless models had factory lines as well as a truss rod! So better photos to come next week... And all the papers.
ped
Superb!! I have a review of that bass written in a strange language, thought you may be interested to see it. The case doesn't look like the original (the one I had was rectangular) but it does seem to fit quite well - so maybe it is in fact a super early original case? Do you know? On the test bench scans.pdf
Hellzero
Thanks for the review in that strange language @ped . The case is an Ibanez case from the same period that will perfectly fit my 1987 Ibanez SR 1000 CT-1. I'll try to find an original or later Vigier soft case.
ped
Here was mine. I'm not sure when the teardrop shaped soft zip cases started but I think a bit later. Great cases though, super secure (bit not much lighter than a full hard case!)

Wow..worth the 20 year quest/wait! @Hellzero Stunning bass, with all the original components, and in fantastic condition! I am very fortunate enough to have an end of the line series 1 Arpege Delta metal bass from January 86.. with the 2nd generation Benedetti pickups, fitted at the time..non original electronics alas..but a dream to play..Looking forward to seeing more photos, of this beauty👍😃
