Wizard thumper volume

I was wondering if anyone else who owns a Wizard thumper experiences significantly uneven volume between strings? The E and A strings were incredibly loud whereas the D and G are incredibly quiet. Having switched the pickups around now the E and D strings are loud and the A and G strings are quiet. I am very confused.

check the height of each bit of pickup to each strings? turn screws down to make quieter and vice versa

Also check your polarity, could be one is out of phase.

My first Thumper was like this, in fact it was worse as one half of the pickup was actually silent. Maybe you have it now ;-)

It's not a pickup height issue. How do I check the polarity of the pickups?

Not sure about the polarity check but you could try tapping something like a screwdriver on each pole piece with the bass plugged in to see if there is a big difference in volume. This would rule out string height/pup adjustment issues.
