Roland VB99 - complete - Final drop ever - Provisionally sold

This is just a feeler but i'm considering moving on my VB 99 and all the paraphernalia that i've collected to use it. Its another brilliant thing i've invested it that again sat in a box when I was gigging this weekend as I was to worried it might get stolen or kicked over.

I bought his last year and was using it through a Mark bass 1200, brilliant system and wonderfully diverse. However since I picked a GB streamliner 900 my approach to bass has completely changed. Pairing it with a barefaced compact and midget plus a a Markbass Compressore has made everything else I own redundant.

Therefore I have a

VB99
gig bag,
Stand (PDs-10),
FC300 floor switch and
3 sets of GK3B pickups
All connectors leads and power supply

that I would be willing to trade/sell as a job lot, all in excellent condition.

Its a hell of a system and fairly expensive (have a google).

Heres some helpful links

I'm looking for any trade offer regarding basses ( anything high end, no Fender as we have fallen out again, i'm always a sucker for anything graphite) . I'm really on the hunt for Barefaced super 12 at the moment to compliment my other two cabs and would certainly consider a trade with cash. But hit me with anything.

Please PM with any questions about sounds and user friendliness. I can even email you some examples of synth tracks i've recorded.

i had a vb99 same as this and they need to be heard to be believed. the emulation of all the classic basses is astonishingly accurate. its like having 10 plus different basses in one and then there is the synth side of things! awesome bit of kit and regret selling mine but was skint. i will get another one when i can afford it. type bump

Yeah I have the previous version, the Vbass and it's fantastic. Unfortunately as my bass has the GK kit installed internally I don't need the extra pickups and so forth. I would be interested to hear how much you would take for the unit only, if it comes to that.

Cheers

I'm well aware of the VB99 being £869 new

that doesn't come with a pickup though, unless you can post a link and prove me wrong my apologies

I'm offering three working GK3B's as part of the deal

Plus the roland floor board which is £300 new

and the stand which is £80 new

and the bag which to be honest is stupidly expensive new for a bag .

All in superb condition.

Its not an outrageous price, total it up on Thomaan or Gak or DV27 and see what you get, you'll be unpleasantly surprised at the outcome.

So PM me if you don't like the price and we can have a chat. Or offer a trade. I'm always open, check my feedback and if you don't like what i'm offering just give me a shout.

I realise I probably started a little high on this price wise (it cost me a lot to put it together) but £900 all in is not completely crazy and as I have stated i'm well up for trades.

Thanks gentlemen, much appreciated

I'm not desperate for a sale but have recently picked up a cab and pre-amp that i'd like to offset against the VB99 set, i'm a big fan of one in one out due to a partner who finds the acquisition of bass equipment frustrating.

I'm quite happy to put on hold to the new year if anyone has an offer or trade, just PM and we can go from there.

Well I seem to have had a bit of a senior moment there as I thought I'd seen the GK-3B included that price but I can't find it now, so the new price for a VB-99 plus a GK-3B is £869 + £119 i.e. £988. And like you say yours has loads of extra stuff including the floor controller which is £300 new. Anyway looks like you have a buyer so all good :)

I really need one of those things, to record my own project and use it on stage as well, so I won't be able to get this before mid-January.

Good luck with selling this but If you can't, don't be upset, just wait a bit :)

Cheers!

Hi Ziggy

Yes we did a trade for the Ostinato - it's still my favourite Jazz bass

Sound-wise there is everything you can think of from synths to upright and acoustic basses.

You can literally dial in whatever you need and it has a massive selection of amp sims and compressors as well as loads of delays, distortions etc.

Have a look at the manual on the Roland site and you'll get an idea of how much is in there.

Surprisingly I've used it at a number of acoustic shows as an upright emulator and have been approached by a number of people asking how I got such a nice acoustic tone out of an electric bass.

PM and i can send you one of the live recordings

If you find my last posts in the 'Vigier Porn' thread I have put up some samples of the older version of this unit.

I really like the way you can make the synth patch dig in after a certain threshold on the new version, so you could play clean but morph into a synth when you pop the string, for example.

Really amazing bit of kit - I'm amazed more players don't use them. I guess you have to be quite into fiddling around though and lots of people like to keep it simple. Having said that, once set up, it becomes a really simple plug'n'play unit that does EVERYTHING!
