ernieball Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I posted info. on my Dingwall way back on Bassworld, but I thought I'd put both my babies on the new forum! Above: EBMM Stingray 4 Limited Edition "Envy Green" Above: Dingwall Afterburner 1 4-string in Trans Blackburst Chin Chin Dave Quote
steve Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I was going to make a comment about how nice I thought that envy green looked on your 'ray, then I saw the Dingwall and my jaw dropped, absolutely stunning. How do you find the fan frets? Quote
BigRedX Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 (edited) Dingwall mmmm... I really like that, but I'm a sucker for black burst over flame or quilt. The only thing that worries me about the Digwall is the angled pickups, I have two basses will angled pickups and I can't seem to find a comfortable point to rest my thumb while playing. What do you do? Or does your technique not have these issues? Edited June 13, 2007 by BigRedX Quote
ernieball Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Steve, The fanned frets were surprisingly easy to get used to.It's more the look of them that freaks people out! It's only really the lower and higher frets that are a little bit of a stretch over a standard fretboard, but after a few plays, you get used to it.I recommend anyone to try one if you get a chance. As far as I know,I'm the only Dingwall owner in the Republic of Ireland. There's a chap in Northern Ireland called Al Niblock who played with The Commitments band who also has one. BigRedX,
What do you do? Or does your technique not have these issues?
Technique? What technique? Dave Quote
