stingrayPete1977
I have long been in amazement at the TC amps ability for auto voltage sensing between 110-240 (or whatever it is) and wished the Genz Shuttle 6.0 and 9.0 had it as do a few people that have fried there amps! well yesterday I added a Shuttle 3.0 to my collection for home practice and as a spare for function band gigs (300 watts small enough to fit under the car seat as a spare, crazy!), Having a look at it this morning I noticed it has not got the voltage selector switch which I thought was a bit of a let down until I noticed its got the feckin auto sensor fitted! Why only on the entry model? Something to do with not having any valves maybe, the TC does not have valves does it? Im thinking thats why? Odd if not IMO. alexclaber
Nothing to do with valves, just the specific SMPS (switched mode power supply) they've used.
stingrayPete1977
You would of thought with the 3, 6 and 9 having the same brand (bang and Ollufson) output section that that part would of been common though? Im going to take the lid off...........
alexclaber
The power supply and the power amp are often two different modules. Be interested to see what's inside though!
stingrayPete1977
Funny you should say that Alex I have just took the lid off them both and took a picture but the camera is too flat to let me upload them, give us 10 mins for enough charge. You are right it has more than one board and they are both totally different in every way.

Musicman20
No valves in the TC amp....not sure why the 3.0 has it and the 6.0/9.0 doesn't. Weird.
stingrayPete1977
Valves was the only connection between the 3.0 and the TC but maybe it's just one of those things?
