Walker Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hi there, I'm in Bristol for the weekend seeing Wild Beasts. Can any locals recommend any good music shops (that stock bass gear) that I could visit for a browse while the wife is hitting the clothes shops? Cheers! Chris Quote
xzodar Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Hi Chris Here's a similar thread with all of the appropriate Bristol shops mentioned. Walker Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Cheers Pete, must admit, I'm more than a little scared after reading that lot! Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Plenty of gear here in the DoomHäus if you wanna play with amps and drink tea. Quote
fatboyslimfast Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Where is the doomhaus MrF? Have a feeling I don't work a million miles away (on the old market/temple way roundabout)... Quote
ern500evo Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 PMT have got some fairly decent stuff at the moment, some nice Stingray's and Fender's. Also got some Yamaha's and a nice Ibanez 6'er, amps by Ashdown, Ampeg, Orange and some of the big valve Peavey stuff. And with the added bonus that all the bass gear is in a seperate little room at the back so you won't have to be left with bleeding ears from young kid ripping out Slipknot riffs on a 7 string Ibanez through the loudest Mesa amp in the shop!! Mornats Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Music Room on College Green have some nice Overwater (made by Tanglewood) guitars in but not a lot else bass-wise. Worth trying one of those mind. I tried one and ended up buying it! They gave me a loyalty card too... so I'm not allowed in there again for a while. And yeah, where's this Doomhaus and what is it? I've heard it mentioned a couple of times so may pop down... Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 The DoomHäus is my house, it replaced the House of Bass, I have loads of gear sat about since I rebuild amps and guitars and move them on. Its the hobby turning business thing since I can't get a 'real' job. It is in Easton/Greenbank, PM for details if you wanna pop down. Quote
