i was looking into getting a tc g major 2 a while back some awesome sounds, delays, reverbs, pitch shifting, modulation! and loads more but no dirt but its an amazing effect!

in the end i went with pedals as im only gonna use delay, reverb and some modulation so it was a bit over the top.

I picked up a Lexicon MPX200 for buttons on ebay few months back and its pretty impressive although gtrist has pinched for use with the PA.
I was only using it at home for messing around. Some really good sounds though

I've been using a TC Electronics G-Major rack for a number of years. Lots of delays, chorus, wah, flange, phase and also built in compression. Its so good and flexible that I've just upgraded to the G-Major 2......which means my original will be going up in the For Sale section soon...... :)

For seriously creative effects there are only few boxes that allow you to dive very deep into creating algorithms.
Eventide rackmount processors are very wellknown for that (H3000 or H3500, DSP4000/GTR4000 or DSP4500, H7000, Orville, H8000, Eclipse) as the TC Electronic Fireworx is. All these go beyond the abilities of standard multieffects.
