Al Webb Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hello there Basschatters! I'm new to this bass forum, but not to bass or forums individually... My name is Al, currently 18 years of age, music student located in Scarborough (Yorkshire coast), and playing a lot of (pop)punk/ska/indie rock/alt stuff. Current main rig consists of MIA Standard Fender P (w/ SD Quarter pounders & Badass III) -> Tech 21 VT Bass -> Ampeg SVT-CL -> Ampeg 410HE. Looking to sell the SVT for something lightweight because of back problems, I'll post a dedicated thread about it in the selling section though... Classically trained from ages 8-16, took up bass properly around 14. Musical influences range from old jazz and reggae to classic rock, punk/metal, and ambient/post rock stuff. I'll say straight off the bat that I'm in a pop-punk band (boooo, automatic disrespect!), but if it helps my musical credibility I severely dislike all the scene/screamo crap that's come about these past couple years - I can't stand anything self-loathing Anyway, I'll shut up now. I'll try and help out around the forums on subjects I'm knowledgeable about as much as possible - hope to see you around on this vastly complicated series of tubes! Al x Quote
xgsjx Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Welcome to BC. I'm afraid you won't find many humans on here, though you may meet a few Yorkshiremen! Quote
gareth1982 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yorkshireman here! More soul than punk, but a bass player is a bass player! Welcome Quote
