Jamesemt Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I want to record rehearsals to analyse my playing (and to maybe show my folks...), but haven't got any type of recorder. We only use the PA for vocals, so I can't plug into the mixer. Can anyone recommend a cheap recorder that will give a decent ish sound - I'm not expecting CD quailty, but would like something that sounds better than sticking an old casette recorder in the room (ie heavily distorted sh*te...). I am willing to spend around £100, hopefully less. Any ideas? Quote
Muppet Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I picked up a cheap minidisc player from ebay and then added a small stereo condenser mic to it and stuck it in the middle of the room. It's not going to win any prizes for recording ability but you can hear all the instruments and vocals fine. Quote
tonybassplayer Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I bought an Apple Powerbook for £1500 and a USB mic so that I could take it to rehearsal and record us but my girlfriend always want it to upload pics on to Facebook with so I use my old trusty Tascam cassette 4 track with a mic hung from the ceiling and spend about 10 seconds getting a level....sounds pretty decent though.
