andrewrx7
Hi there, Been playing around with a couple of cabs tonight, and hearing the different sounds had me thinking why do they sound so different? Same head, same settings etc, but one cab clearly had significantly more...not sure on the right terms to use, but more depth/more bottom etc. Both cabs, have 10" speakers, by the way. So, why & how do different speakers produce different sounds, when run from the same guitar/amp/settings? Just curious to understand the "physics" behind it...! Ta! MoonBassAlpha
some pictures and dimensions and details about ports and tuning of your speakers would be very useful here....
xgsjx
Those links above should give you a good insight. Simply put, it's mainly down to how well the cab is tuned for the driver as different drivers require differently tuned cabs (port size, internal dimentions, etc) & then there's what kind of material the cab is made of & so on. 51m0n
Not to mention the cabinets' internal bracing and dampening, the quality of the cossover (assuming there is a tweeter in there) the nature of the driver (the circumference is a tiny tiny part of the whole story here, Alex Clabber is the man when it comes to this kind of detail, believe me!)
