Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had tried one these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EKO-BA4L-Florence-Electro-Acoustic-Bass-Solid-Sitka-Spruce-Top-Sunburst-Finish-/390366888683?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item5ae3ae02eb#ht_2183wt_1344

Quite interesting looks for an acoustic bass. For £180 it could be worth a punt

They have a good unplugged sound (one of the best I've tried), nice to play if set up well. Build quality good.
On the downside , on one I know the neck seems to demand attention, I've set it up a couple of times, the first time after a month there was massive fret buzz, I raised the action a bit and six months down the line the neck relief is huge. Maybe it will stabilize , maybe it was a bad example.
If you're not afraid of adjusting the truss rod yourself - go for it.
BTW it's up for £199

I have an '81 Eko bass,
its a lined fretless, floating bridge, no cutaway,
great acoustic tone, it didn't have a pick up
Its now fitted with a K&K pick up and constantly gets appreciative comments when I use it live.
It has a big fat body which makes it awkward to play, but gives it the tone.
The neck has been adjusted only to cope with different strings, otherwise it has been stable.
At £199 it should be good VFM.
