Thor
Hi all, my foray into effects continues - I've been considering a filter type pedal for a while but am a tad uncertain as to what to go for - have seen demos on youtube of lots of different envelope filters etc and am more confused than ever!? Did like the sound of both Subdecay pedals particularly though. So thought I'd chuck it out here to see what's everyone's opinion/experiences/thoughts are - and maybe I've overlooked something, so am always open to new recommendations. Cheers, Pete. PS: Just purchased Chunk Systems Brown Dog so had also thought about their 00Funk pedal too - any thoughts?
xgsjx
It depends on what you want to do. I'd have a look at the Soundblox BEF Pro with the Hothand for doing wah & dubstep, or if you're wanting something for those texture things (and dubstep, techno or DnB) have a look at the Moog MF-101 (there's one for sale on here with an EP2). If you want to hear the Moog, have a listen to some of my stuff here or here. The pedals you've mentioned all appear to be very good too.
Ghost_Bass
I can't recommend enough the 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator. The best i've heard ever! I'm changing mine now for the 3Leaf Audio Proton just because i don't need that many knobs on a pedal - i like to set-and-forget - but i hope i can retain the same great sound!
I have a Source Audio BEF pro and while if you were being really critical you might say it lacks a bit of the "wetness" that many like in a filter, if that's even true, to my mind it makes up for it with range of sounds and control. If you add hot hand into the mix, it's a stunning musical tool, way more versatile than the other filters I have used. Higgie
If you liked the sound of the Prometheus, check out its big brother, the Prometheus Deluxe. It does everything the Prometheus does and SO MUCH MORE. I have both the Prometheus and the Proteus, both are awesome, but I STILL want a Deluxe! Thor
Cheers guys, more research it seems - think I'll have to try and find a supplier locally and see what they sound like in the flesh. I certainly wasn't aware of the 3Leaf or the Prometheus Deluxe so shall be checking those out! Thanks again, I'll have to try and get some pics up of my home made pedal board - it's nothing like most on the show us yours thread but works for me.
