Bilbo Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 The studio internet forums all recommend hair ties!! I have a wife and she has hair so I reckon there is a significant possibility that she will have one that will keep me happy until January! Thanks anyway! Quote

Dad3353 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Whatever's wrong with good old elastic bands..? Surely a half-decent model shop will have several lengths/strengths..? How does one fly balsa models these days, then, eh..? Please don't tell me that no-one winds up elastic any more, I couldn't take it. What with the disappearance of Toby Twirl, and the end of Boys Own Paper, the world would make no sense, now, would it..? Quote
brensabre79 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Yeah the ones the post office use are good elastic bands, nice and strong, you might need a few as they can be a bit bouncy! Hair bands also good - its pretty much the same stuff. Next week, how to make a pop shield with an old stocking and a coat hangar... Edited November 29, 2011 by brensabre79 Quote
StraightSix Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011
Next week, how to make a pop shield with an old stocking and a coat hangar...
...and how to build a Neumann U87 from an empty toilet roll holder and a sheet of sticky-backed plastic... Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 My postman kindly leaves spare rubber shockmount type elastic bands in my front garden, and I don't even remember telling him I needed some! Now THAT's service! Quote
