Chris Horton Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I have heard great things about these cabs. Not had the chance to try one yet but I would love to compare it against my UL 410. Just out of interest do you know how heavy the cab is? Have a bump on me Ps, wy wife would go spare if she new I was looking at this post
elcastillian Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Hi Chris, did you say you want too know how light the cab is ? It's 47 lbs.
elcastillian Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 Still for sale. Guess I haven't been on the case with this, well, I'm still using it, it a very easy to use cab, zero back ache, solid punch out front.
Gareth Hughes Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Bump for an amazing cab. I've been gigging one of these regularly (it'll be out tonight as well) for the past 3+ years and it's never let me down. Played in a LOUD seven piece wedding band with two horns and a ridiculously loud guitarist (but aren't they all? ) and I was never left wanting for more. With a Markbass 500watt head or a Genz Benz Streamliner 600, these cabs can deliver serious volume with clarity and all the dynamics you need. For that price I'd buy it if I didn't already have one.
barry021574 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Is this still for sale? Does it have a cover with it? ... and whereabouts are you? Barry
elcastillian Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 Hi Barry, yes still for sale, soz no cover, J3 M5, and it's a one arm lift, cheers
karlfer Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 For the criminally dumb, I have an Orange 500watt Bass Terror, which has a switch on the back to select 4ohms or 8ohms. How does 5.3 ohms go?
elcastillian Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Hi Karlfer, pls forgive this techno speak, but here goes, "for maximum transference of power the impedance of the load must match the impedance of the source." And so 4 ohms would be fine, but in theory you wouldn't get quite as much volume out of a 5.3 ohm cab. But in practice, bet you wouldn't notice the difference. Fellow basschatters please comment, look forward to hearing from you.
karlfer Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Thanks for that, certainly an interesting cab, food for thought. Karl.
Gareth Hughes Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I've been running 500w at 4ohms heads into my UL310 for about three years now and it is LOUD!!!!
elcastillian Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 Thank you Gareth, well said from a man who knows.
ben604 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I bought this, Gents. Although I'm not necessarily getting on with it. If either of you two want to get in touch about it, send me a PM.
