This particular seller is prone to ridiculous pricing. Must be a New York thing. Authenticating is easy. He has given you the serial number, so call Jaydee and they will tell you who it's listed on the books as having been made for. The Mark King thing is not entirely implausible. I remember a guy telling me something similar a few years back, how John had made some basses that he hoped Mark would be interested in, but Mark declined them. The guy bought a S1 Mark King off of John that he claimed was one of those basses. It's not a '91 bass though. If this is the bass I think it is, it was made for a guy called Dave who lives in Ohio.

Jaydee's really are hideous looking things.

Ahh.. the parlance of young people..

you, of course mean "Hideous" as in "beautiful/well sculpted/pleasing to the eye" in the same way as "Bad" means "good"???

I accept that it's not the nicest headstock in the world but the bodies...hmmm...so reminiscent of a woman's hips and bottom..

If it was built in 1991 and was left in the closet since how did it get to America?
[/quote]
The closet must have been exported without being opened. It's the only possible explanation. Mark King's been wondering what happened to it ever since.

I couldn't disagree more - in a nice way.
The headstock is just so distinctive and is a great feature.

All in my opinion of course. :)

MB1. :)
The only 8 string Jaydee ive ever seen Mr King with was this one (around the time of True Colours) used on "Hours by the window"
obviously it was originally built at Jaydee but as to its history only Mr King or Mr Diggins would know that!
(A very old Pic out of One Two Testing.)
Think Durandassi may know a little more on this?
