MAG300 2x10 Combo Fan

Hi,

I've picked up a second hand MAG300 2x10 Combo (Not EVO). It's got a single fan behind the heatsinks.

I was wondering if this fan was temperature controlled or if it was supposed to run as soon as the amp was turned on?

I did a forum search and some answers give the impression that it runs as soon as the amp is on but this is not explicitly addressed.

Fan should run as soon as you turn the combo on!
the only ashdown amps that are thermostatically switched are the Little Giants that i know of.

Thanks, looks like a replacement fan is on the cards.

Send Ashdown CS a friendly email and see what they say. It wouldn't harm to tell them your on Basschat

Wasn't the fan in the end, I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue but I disconnected the fan and hooked it up to a 9v battery and it worked.

Made a makeshift external battery case from Maplins bits and bobs. It'll do the trick for now, messing with the PCB is beyond my knowledge and toolkit.
