G string choke pick up problem

I'm looking for an Underwood or Shadow pick up at the moment, I'm using Fishman BP100 just now which I like for the most part but seems to choke on the G string. I did buy the K&K Sound Bass Master Pro Upright Bass Pickup System but took it off, couldn't get a good sound from it. I swapped it for a spare BP100 and some other bits and pieces. I also have a magnetic Schaller which has a good sound but being metal, rattles like a jailers keys when amplified.

Obviously changed G string, sounds fine acoustically, tried positioning pup paddles, changed bridges.

I guess try another type of pup?

Surprised at Schaller rattling, mine is ok. Which part was rattling?

It appears to be the input pot lugs and volume pot lugs, gonna try blob of mastic on then try again.
