Jamesemt Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I traded an ABZ earlier this year as I got hand cramps playing in the first position with the?? 37'' scale?? I've read that the Combustions come with a 35'' scale. Do they feel much different? Are the neck shapes the same? I absolutely loved the neck from about the third fret onwards. This relates to the 4 strings, not 5. I'm feeling the need to add a Dingwall to the 'keeper' collection if I can get a shorter neck and active electronics Quote
Ou7shined Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Phew! I thought this was going to be a thread in favour of setting fire to certain Dingwalls. Quote
Sheldon Dingwall Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Hi James, Combustions are 37". Super J's and the new Super P are 35". Quote
Jamesemt Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for the replies, I'll check a Combustion out. Is there much difference with the Combustion 2s? Quote
charic Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I thought you didn't get on with the 37" scale? Quote
Jamesemt Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Lol Sorry, trying to multi task with two kids doesn't work! Meant to say I'll have a look at the Super J and possibly P Quote
charic Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 You mean you haven't taught kid 1 to look after kid 2 yet? Quote
poptart Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Keep an eye on my site as I have the new Dingwall P basses on order in 4 and 5 and also the Super J in 4 and 5. The more compact scale length retains all the benefits of the fan frets but is a little more compact and bijoux ;-) Mark Quote
