Any Chester/Wirral based BC-ers at a loose end tonight and fancy seeing a gig?

If any BC-ers are not gigging themselves tonight and are at a bit of a loose end we'd love to see you at The Bridge Inn on Tarvin Road in Chester, where my band, Trigger Fingers, are twanging our wires tonight, working our way through our set of poptastic covers. If any gear heads are interested I'll be brandishing my Zoot Chaser with ACG EQ01 filter-based preamp (Mmmm, hubba hubba), and TC RH450 through my Barefaced Super Twelve T. Hell, if I wasn't actually playing I'm sure I'g go along to take a look/listen myself!

Amazing sounding bass and a tidy bassist! :)

I'm not even paying him, folks! Actually, I owe you a pint or two, Steve; really would be good to see you some time. You up to anything playing-wise yourself these days? (Oh, as Steve is too modest to point out, if the Zoot does indeed sound amazing it is, in no small part, due to the work he did on it!)

Hiya mate. I'm getting a band together at the moment. I went to Holland last week to jam and record with my old singer, had a great time but we realised that rehearsals and gigs would be very expensive, what with the air fare, it would cost me over £100 to just rehearse!!

I'm looking to find other misfits to get a blues, psychedelic band of raggle taggle types. I'll keep you posted.

Went to see The Hexmen at the Swinging Arm last night, what a band. Have you seen them before?

Steve.

I have only just this this hour noticed this thread(9pm Sunday). So i thought might as well go along being as its only 300 yards from my house, it'd be lazy and churlish if i didnt. Not to mention that I could at last get a hear of one of those Barefaced cabs, and have a chinwag with its owner now that the 'Barefaced Tour' has been stopped for some reason. (I have no idea what a Zoot chaser is though ?) So at 9pm tonight I walked in and it was dead as a door nail, aha i thought, this is the worlds quietest and smallest band, being as i could neither hear nor see them. That must be their thing. ?

Only then did i see a sign on the wall saying the band was on the 3rd. ie last night!. Sigh!

The thing that pissed me off most was the horrendous costage. Unfortunately I had by habit asked for a pint as i walked in. So I was stuck for paying £3.10 for a pint of cider, when I usually pay that for 4 cans at Sainsburys!

I seem to vaguely remember a similar mistake of some sort. Of turning up on the wrong night, just like this, happening not long after I first joined this forum. Maybe i am doomed to never see another Forum members band ?

Edit: I have been racking my brains and i honestly think i did do this exact identical daft trick, last year at the same pub ?! Unless I am in some sort of awful time loop. Although that could explain why I keep getting slowly better, then all of a sudden seem to be back to not being able to play a note again. Never mind know what the difference betwwen Eb and D# is ?

I didnt even find Groundhog Day very funny. Hold on, Didnt Bill Murray use the time to become a piano virtuosso ?

PS: (If I'm not actually caught in some sort of temporal time loop.) Any chance of maybe a weeks notice next time ? :)

PPS: Anyone seen Punxsutawney Phil ? Ask him any chance of a mild winter?

Sorry you missed us, Daz - I will ensure I give you more notice next time!

Yeah. see you next year. same time same place :)

No problem, im just pissed off and rather puzzled as to why i never noticed your post before Sunday night. I always start first on the 'view new content' section, and at the moment i am logging in twice a day. So i must have looked at the forum at least twice since your opening post was there.

The Hexmen? Never heard of them! Sounds like I'll have to keep an eye out/ear open for them on the strength of that recommendation though.

Daz, you're welcome to pop round and check the cab out anytime, if you like. Just shoot me a PM and we can arrange something. We're only in Upton.

Mark
