chiSEERKIND Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) For Sale due to acquisition of valves (mmmm): Peavey Firebass 700 whiteface model. £170, collected. This thing is probably 10 years old now, if not more, but its the only amp I've ever owned thats never broken down on me! (if no one wants it i'm tempted to keep as a backup tbh) Amazingly versitile amp, with built in crossover, effects loop, pre-out power in loop etc. Oh, and when you stick it through 2 ohm it WILL shake the house down! In fact, we rehearse under a music shop in Wiltshire and whenever this baby's been cranked we have tales from the owner the following morning of having to replace all the pedals back to the shelves and the ukeleles to their stands! Low and loud isn't an issue for it! The carpet covering is pretty shabby, and the corners and handles are showing signs of a life in a van, however, i can recover with buffalo emboss tolex should you wish for an extra £30 (bearing in mind i'll have to remove all the old carpet etc etc, christ, you know the score!) Anyway, its the white face one in the pics, and no, the matamp is not for sale, however, the 4x15 (empty) is! Mr. Foxen Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Still somewhat miss my one of these, the fact that it has been holding its own vs a Matamp is pretty telling.
Wooks79 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 First proper amp I ever owned, and never ever let me down, even after literally being thrown around. I'm always tempted when these come up, even though I don't really need it. A workhorse of an amp for whoever buys it!!
Mr. Foxen Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 There is a whole bunch of cool stuff that can be done with the ton of pre to power options that people miss out on with these, some seriously advanced stuff that they miss out on if they 'upgrade' to another amp.
chiSEERKIND Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 These guys speak the truth! Bump bump BUMP!!!
Dylzord Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi, i've been looking for a firebass for a while now so i'm pretty interested! The tone is incredible. Where are you located?
chiSEERKIND Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Am down in Bath Dylzord, and yes, it is incredible!
chiSEERKIND Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Any takers? Christmas is coming and this would look good under the tree. "Here you go love, for you..." "What the f**k is this?!?!?!" Bump

[/quote] Yeah, however the part involving you going " Look at this... why don't you buy it?" beforehand has been omitted.
chiSEERKIND Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 Discussions underway for 4x15... Firebass still very much available. C'maaaaaaaaannnnn!
mrdreadful Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Basically what Mr. Foxen said... I've been messing around with the crossover on mine and there was a whole lot of shaking going on. If I had the money I'd be all over this because what's better than having one Firebass head? Having two Firebass heads!
