BassMan94
Okay so basically i have got my self an adapter which will convert my jack cable into the 3.5mm output, which then i can connect to my pc with. I wanted to know would this way work if i wanted to record myself ? If not what else would i need ?
chrismuzz
I'm assuming you mean plugging the bass straight into the mic input? I've tried that method before, on a crappy laptop with no decent sound card to speak of. Soundwise It's good fr rough recordings but I wouldn't use it for anything 'proper'. Your experiences may be better though and it won't hurt to try

xgsjx
I wouldn't pop the 3.5mm adaptor straight onto the end of your mono 1/4" jack & then into your lappy. You'll be shorting a channel. If you're handy with a soldering iron then get a length of cable, a mono 1/4" jack & a 3.5mm stereo jack & just connect the lead to tip & sleeve of the 3.5. Or you could get yourself one of these & connect your bass to just one & select just that channel (Left or Right) in your software.
