cardinaljay Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Hi fellow basschatters. Here's my 1973 Precision Bass. Serial number: 424910 Made in the Fullerton Factory in the good ol' US of A A great sounding bass, which is wonderfully light and has a awesome pick up which is lovely and responsive. I've had a few 70's P Basses before which were heavy and sounded dead. Fear not, this bass is a good un. If you're after a mint condition bass, click "back" now. This bass has been played and should continue to be, which is something I'm not doing at the moment. Notable features: Ash Body, light weight, Maple neck stamped by J. Torres, long "G" intonation bridge saddle,

cardinaljay Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 Other than the fact the finish has worn away here and there (it's nearly fourty years old) There's a couple of notable marks which have been filled in. One is from what was obviously a thumb rest and the other looks like a mic stand/harmonic stand had been attached somehow. Not really that noticeable to me, but worth mentioning. Here we go
sime17 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 have a "easy on the 'nearly forty years old' there fella - this was born the same year as me..." BUMP in a mid-life-crisis-stylee.
sime17 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Excuse the above pointless bump - it was on the front page anyways! TBH it's not just bcoz of my 'nearly 40 years old' shocker... I need somebody to grab this soon before thoughts drift to birth-year basses.
cardinaljay Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 Wednesday it's-nearly-lunch-bump time... I am surprised the interest in this has been virtually non-existent. I thought £1500 for a 1973 P Bass was very reasonable price-wise?
Hutton Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Not an unreasonable price at all but it is the middle of December with Christmas approaching and we are in the middle of a dreadful economic malaise. Maybe these things have got something to do with it. Hopefully someone can shake off the above reasons and grab themselves a nice bass. All the best!
cardinaljay Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 Cheers for the words Hutton. You are right, it is near on Christmas, and what better present could a bass playing friend/family member get on that special day... drop hints to yer wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, long lost uncles etc Yes, I am hoping the most generous person in the world spots this ad. Twiddles thumbs...
cardinaljay Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Here's a "just had my dinner" bump.
